Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville men's volleyball team started off their 2022 campaign with an impressive win over SUNY Potsdam Saturday afternoon. It was an all-around team effort as the Saints took all three sets. Freshman Randy Adorno Pagan had and outstanding debut for the Saints, tallying 23 assists with one block. Freshman Tymek Brzoza led the way with seven kills and one assist.
First Set Notables
- Saints took the first set decidedly at 25-13.
- Nick Garbacz led the way in the first set, getting three kills off of five attempts.
- Randy Adorno Pagan had six assists.
- Dan Busha had two service aces.
- The Saints had four blocks, while the Bears had one.
Second Set Notables
- SUNY Potsdam fought back in the second set, but D'Youville edged out at 25-19 win.
- Jacob Malak, Ian De Wilde, and Tymek Brzoza each had three kills.
- Josh Miller had two kills, while Garbacz added another kill to his stat line. Miller also had an assist.
- Adorno Pagan padded his stats with 10 assists.
- The Saints again out-blocked the Bears, recording three team blocks to their one.
Third Set Notables
- The third set was an absolute battle for the Saints, as the Bears kept it close but D'Youville ultimately came out with the victory, 25-22.
- Theethat Vichitchoti and Brozoza each had three kills.
- Adorno Pagan and Malak had two kills apiece, while Busha had one.
- Adorno Pagan had seven assists, while Malak and Brzoza had two and one, respectively.
- Malak and Brzoza worked together for the Saints only block of the set.
