Saints Stun Wildcats in Senior Day Victory

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Men's Volleyball team finished their 2025 season on a high note defeating the Daemen University Wildcats 3-1 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

Set One
It was a rematch between the Saints and Wildcats following last nights 3-1 match win for the Wildcats over the Saints and they continued their momentum into today taking an early 9-5 lead in set one. Kills from Spencer Boakye (Union, N.J. / Union) and Skyler Tutor (St. Cloud, FL / St. Cloud) pushed the Saints forward as they tied the game at ten. Two errors from the Wildcats gave the Saints the 12-10 lead. Kills from five different Saints kept them in the lead and two final errors from the Wildcats put the Saints over the top as they took set one 25-17.

Set Two
Once again, the Wildcats took an early 10-6 lead in set two, but the Saints fought back scoring seven in-a-row featuring kills from Ian De Wilde (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint) and Tymek Brzoza (Tychy, Poland) to move ahead 13-10. From there, D'Youville kept their foot on the gas jumping ahead 22-19. The Wildcats got one back, but a block from Jacob Malak (Wales, Wisc. / Kettle Moraine) and Brzoza and a kill from Brzoza gave the Saints the 25-20 win in set two.

Set Three
D'Youville carried their momentum into set three taking the 7-6 lead and then moving ahead 10-6 following a kill from Randy Adorno (Bayamon, Puerto Rico / Winter Park) and a kill and a service ace from Jacob Malak. The Wildcats got within two at 15-13, but the Saints kept moving ahead with kills from Tutor, Boakye, and Adorno. The Wildcats continued to fight back scoring four in-a-row to tie the game at 18, but another kill from Boakye put the Saints back on top. Daemen again fought back taking the 20-19 lead, but the Saints got one back to retie at 20. As gameplay continued, the set tied at 21 and the Wildcats would score the next four points to take the set 25-21.

Set Four
 The fourth set started with a battle as the neither team could confidently take the lead as they tied at nine, but the Saints put five points on the board in a row to take the 13-9 lead. From there D'Youville stayed in control despite the Wildcats putting up a strong fight to keep the match alive. A final kill from Boakye along with a Wildcat error gave the Saints the 25-23-win ins et four and the 3-1 match win.
