AMHERST, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Men's Volleyball team suffered a tough 3-1 loss to Daemen University on Friday night.

 D'Youville University 1 at Daemen University 3 – (25-23, 20-25, 20-25, 22-25)
Set One
Daemen took a quick lead to begin set one, but a kill from Skyler Tutor (St. Cloud, FL / St. Cloud) followed by a Wildcat error tied the score at 10. Daemen retook the lead, but the Saints continued to fight and finally took the 15-14 lead following a kill from Ian De Wilde (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint). D'Youville continued to climb with the Wildcats staying close until they led 24-22 following another kill form De Wilde. The Wildcats got one back, but a final kill from De Wilde put the nail in the coffin and gave the Saints the 25-23 win in set one.

Set Two
The second set started much like the first with Daemen holding a tight 9-6 lead over the Saints. The Wildcats scored three in-a-row to extend their lead, but the Saints fought right back going on a four-point run to trail 12-10 following kills from Ian De Wilde and Tymek Brzoza (Tychy, Poland). The Wildcats did not give up the lead and continued to climb until they reached 22-17. The Saints earned three more points off Wildcats errors before Daemen took set two 25-20.

Set Three
It was D'Youville who got on top first in the third set 13-9 following a kill from Tymek Brzoza. Daemen slowly foght their way back until they tied the set at 17. From there, the Wildcats controlled the set as the Saints fought to stay in it. A final Wildcats error along with another kill from Tymek Brzoza kept the Saints in the fight, but the Wildcats would take set three 25-20.

Set Four
D'Youville took the early 4-1 lead in set four following a service ace from Randy Adorno (Bayamon, Puerto Rico / Winter Park), a kill from Spencer Boakye (Union, N.J. / Union) and two Wildcats errors. Daemen fought back tying the game at four and the Saints and Wildcats battled until Daemen held the 11-8 lead. A kill from De Wilde and two Daemen errors retied the game at 11. From there, Daemen retook control and started their climb as they led 23-19. The Saints battled scoring three off two Daemen errors and a kill from Tymek Brzoza to bring the score to 23-22, but a well-timed timeout from Daemen stopped the Saints momentum as they earned the final two points to take set four 25-22 and the match 3-1.
