HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The D'Youville University women's track and field team opened their season at the Houghton December Invite on Friday.

Sophomore
Skylar Savage (Attica, N.Y.) took home a first-place finish for the Saints in the 60m hurdles with a new personal record time of 9.57.

In the 400m, freshman
Atasia Williams (Farmington, N.Y.) claimed a second-place finish in her first collegiate meet with a time of 1:01.51.

Sophomore
Jenna Capolupo (Wheatfield, N.Y.) finished in second place and set a new personal record in the 60m with a time of 7.72.

In the 300m, freshman
Gabrielle Tripi (West Seneca, N.Y.) took home ninth place in the 300m with a time of 47.32 in her collegiate debut.

The Saints posted a strong showing in the field events with three top-ten finishes in the long jump and two top-ten finishes in the high jump. In the long jump, Capolupo and Savage continued their strong days with first and fourth place finishes, respectively. Freshman
Tayden Persons (Sherman, N.Y.) claimed a ninth-place finish in her first collegiate meet.

Madison MacNeill (West Seneca, N.Y.) took fourth place and senior
Kelly Lucas (Fredonia, N.Y.) took ninth place to cap off a solid season opener for DYU.

D'Youville will now be off for a while, with their next meet scheduled for January 11
th at the Southern Tier Invite hosted by Cornell University.
