HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The D'Youville University women's track & field team posted a strong showing in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Highlander Invitational on Saturday.

Lydia Smith (Williamsport, Pa.), sophomore
Skylar Savage (Attica, N.Y.), junior
Kelly Lucas (Fredonia, N.Y.), and freshman
Tayden Persons (Sherman, N.Y.) all took home first place finishes for the Saints.

Smith took first place in the 1500m with a time of 5:01.02, a new personal record. Freshman
Sienna Uebelhoer (Elma, N.Y.) placed seventh with a personal record time of 5:15.31. Sophomore
Barbara Kunz also set a personal record in the event with a time of 5:40.44.

Savage claimed first-place finishes in the long jump with a score of 4.93m and the triple jump with a score of 10.40m. Savage performed well in the 100m hurdles also, placing second with a time of 16.58.

Lucas placed first and set a personal record in the javelin throw with a score of 28.90m. Smith and Kunz turned in solid performances in the event as well, finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Persons' first-place finish came in the 400m hurdles, where she clocked a personal record time of 1:11.47. She also placed fifth in the shot put with a score of 8.32m.

In the 400m, sophomore
Madison MacNeill (West Seneca, N.Y.) finished second with a time of 1:03.12. She also placed second in the high jump with a score of 1.56m.

Freshman
Gabrielle Tripi (West Seneca, N.Y.) set a personal record and finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 13.62. In the 200m, she took third place with a time of 28.70.

In the 800m, Smith placed third with a time of 2:31.89. Junior
Lexie Hillman (Alden, N.Y.) took home a fifth-place finish and set a personal record with a time of 2:37.73.

D'Youville will be back in action on April 5
th when they compete in the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University.
