BUFFALO, N.Y. - The D'Youville women's tennis team opened their home schedule Saturday evening at the Village Glenn Tennis Center, winning their third match of the season by taking down Penn State-Altoona, 5-2. Saturday's victory improves the Saints to 3-1 on the season.
D'Youville won four of their six singles matches while sweeping the three doubles matches to take the non-conference tilt. Freshman Yuliia Kastelian continued her hot start to the season by winning her singles match 6-1, 6-1, before teaming up with freshman Taylor Nash for a 6-4 doubles triumph. Nash also won her singles match by a scoreline of 6-3, 6-3.
Junior Allison Meissner also dominated her singles victory, winning 6-1, 6-0, and she also was a doubles victor, pairing up with sophomore Taylor-Anne Austin for a 6-3 win. Freshman Katelyn Hoover rounded out the singles victories with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Hoover also won her doubles match, 6-2, pairing with sophomore Katrina Whipple.
The Saints will open their East Coast Conference schedule on Friday, September 24 when they travel to Long Island for a road match at Molloy. Play is set to get underway at 3 p.m.
