BUCKHANNON, W.V. - D'Youville dropped their road contest against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday by a score of 6-1.
In doubles play,
Munisa Ashurbekova and
Nele Herbst shined for the Saints at first doubles, securing a 6-4 victory over WVWC's top duo. West Virginia Wesleyan earned a win on court three and closed out a tough match on court two with
Erika Ismailova and
Mina Randjelovic, finshing with a score of 7-6 (7-5).
Ashurbekova highlighted the outing in singles play, picking up a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set victory at the number one spot. Herbst dropped a hard-fought match on court two with Daria Godlewska by a score of 2-6, 7-5 (10-5). Ismailova pushed her opponent to the brink, dropping the match to Renata Pozzobon 7-5, 6-2 on court three. West Virginia Wesleyan closed out the match with victories on courts four, five and six, finishing up with a final score of 6-1.
