WINTER PARK, Fla. — D'Youville University (5-4) battled throughout but ultimately fell to Rollins College (7-3) by a final score of 6-1 on Monday.
Rollins secured the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. Milla Falster and Stella Fruijtier earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles over Miranda Bosch and Erika Ismailova, followed by Amina Abdulloeva and Sydney Eckstein's 6-0 result against Maria Victoria Campisi and Mina Randjelovic at No. 3 doubles. D'Youville's top pairing of Munisa Ashurbekova and Nele Herbst provided the highlight for the Saints, earning a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles over Nisan Can and Lorin Tilipman.
In singles play, Rollins added to its lead with a win at No. 6 singles, where Annie Sallick defeated Victoria Campisi 6-1, 6-2. Nisan Can followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ashurbekova at No. 1 singles, and Falster added another point for Rollins with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Ismailova at No. 3 singles.
Tilipman clinched the match for Rollins with a tightly contested 6-1, 7-6(6) victory over Herbst at No. 2 singles. Eckstein added a point after edging Bosch in a pair of competitive sets, 7-5, 7-5, at No. 5 singles.
D'Youville earned its point at No. 4 singles, where Mina Randjelovic delivered a strong performance, defeating Abdulloeva 7-6(1), 7-5 in a closely contested match.
The Saints wrap up their Florida road trip on Wednesday, March 11th as they'll be back on the court against the University of Tampa.
