Bradford, PA - The D'Youville women's tennis team nearly pulled out their first win of the season Saturday morning against the Pitt.-Bradford Panthers but were ultimately defeated by the final score of 6-3.
Senior Jessica Banning (Amherst, NY/Amherst) had a big day for the Spartans, winning in her singles and doubles match. Jessica defeated her singles opponent 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 and with the help of her doubles partner Hasti Dave (Etobicoke, ONT/North Albion Collegiate Institute), defeated the third Bradford doubles pairing by the score of 8-3.
Gillian Wittig (Depew, NY/Depew) continued to play well for D'Youville, winning her singles match 6-1, 6-0. Wittig has won 3 of her last 4 singles matches on the season.
The women will conclude their season on Tuesday, October 6th at Medaille.
