BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The D'Youville University track and field team had a strong showing at day one of the Brockport Multi on Friday.

Lydia Smith (Williamsport, Pa.), sophomore
Skylar Savage (Attica, N.Y.), and freshman
Tayden Persons (Sherman, N.Y.) represented the Saints in the women's pentathlon. Smith placed fourth, Savage finished sixth, and Persons took ninth in a field of fourteen competitors.

In the 60m hurdles, Savage placed fourth with a time of 9.74, while Persons finished ninth with a time of 10.69, and Smith placed tenth with a time of 10.75.

Smith finished second and set a personal record in the high jump with a score of 1.53m. Persons placed sixth with a score of 1.38m and Savage finished eighth and also set a new personal record with a score of 1.35m.

In the shot put, Persons took fourth place with a score of 8.69m. Savage and Smith both set personal records in the event with scores of 8.53m and 8.52m, respectively. Savage finished fifth while Smith placed sixth.

In the long jump, Savage came in fifth with a score of 5.07m. Smith finished seventh with a score of 4.86m, a new personal record. Persons placed eleventh with a score of 4.36m.

In the final event of the day, the 800m, Smith took second with a time of 2:27.88. Savage placed tenth with a time of 2:48.92 and Persons finished eleventh with a time of 2:50.46.

Smith finished the day with a total score of 2908 points, Savage 2708 points, and Persons 2376 points.

D'Youville will be back in action on Saturday when they return for day two of the Brockport Multi, which will begin at 10:00 a.m.
