ERIE, Pa. – The D'Youville Women's Bowling team capped off their opening weekend of tournament play at the Mercyhurst Invitational with a 2-8 record.
The Saints opened up their 2025-26 campaign at the Mercyhurst Invitational with five traditional matches on Saturday followed by five Bakers Format matches on Sunday. The Saints suffered losses on Saturday to Penn State Behrend (L, 926-939), William Smith College (L, 756-860), Daemen University (L, 741-770), and Mercyhurst University (L, 816-884). The bright spot in the day came in the Saints fourth matchup as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan University 801 pins to 795.

Summer Sega (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg),
Hailee Zalwsky (Olean, N.Y. / Olean Senior) and
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central) all bowled their best games in the opening matchup as Sega bowled a 193, Zalwsky bowled a 213, and Kapsiak bowled a 230.
Robin Jeziorski (Buffalo, N.Y. / JFK) bowled her best game in the fifth matchup with a 187 against Mercyhurst University.
The Saints faced a similar fate in day two as they fell in their first four Baker Format matches to Wright State University (L, 730-1,006), Niagara University (L, 815-929), Daemen University (L, 806-828), and William Smith College (L, 994-1,085). D'Youville got their revenge on the Wildcats in their fifth Baker match of the day as the Saints out bowled Daemen 1,027 pins to 1,011.
