ERIE, Pa. – The D'Youville Women's Bowling team finished day one of the Grapevine Classic 3-2 overall with two bowlers finishing in the top ten.
After falling to Saint Vincent in game one 941-804, D'Youville found their footing taking the next three wins over Penn State Behrend (W, 899-767), Daemen University (W, 842-812), and University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (W, 836-756). The Saints closed out there day with a close loss to Hilbert College, 892 pins to 862 pins.
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central) was the top finisher for the Saints ending in second place overall out of 47 bowlers. Kapsiak finished with a 209 average on the day with a best game of 222 in game four against University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
Hailee Zalwsky (Olean, N.Y. / Olean Senior) was the next finisher for the Saints placing tenth overall with an average score of 178 and a best game of 210 in game two against Penn State Behrend.
