NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Women's Bowling team finished seventh at the two-day Niagara University Brunswick Open this past weekend.

The Saints got out to a tough start on Saturday finishing 0-5 in five traditional matches. Despite the losses, D'Youville had two standout bowlers. Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central) finished seventh overall knocking down 962 pins in day one. Kapsiak was the top East Coast Conference bowler at the open. Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) also had a stellar finish, placing ninth overall with 943 pins knocked down. Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) finished in the top half of bowlers as well placing 24th overall and knocking down 859 pins.

After getting out to a tough start on Saturday, the Saints saw two victories across five baker format matches on Sunday. The Saints defeated Hilbert College 799 pins to 760 in their second match of the day. D'Youville then went on to defeat Roberts Wesleyan University 858 pins to 783 pins in their final game of the tournament.

The Women's Bowling team is back for another busy weekend. The Saints will attend the Saint Vincent Pat Lacey Memorial on Saturday, November 9th. D'Youville will then head to Pittsburgh, Pa. for the La Roche Unicorn Classic on Sunday, November 10th.
