NIAGARA, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Women's Bowling team finished ninth out of ten teams in the Niagara University Invitational this past weekend. The Saints went 3-8 overall but had two bowlers finish in the top 20 on day one.
The Saints opened on Saturday with five traditional matches but finished the day 2-3 overall. D'Youville's first matchup came against Penn State Behrend (W, 880-830) and they then went on to face Bryant University (L, 915-851), University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (W, 851-762), Hilbert College (L, 878, 857), and closed the day out against Niagara University (L, 1065-745).
Hailee Zalwsky (Olean, N.Y. / Olean Senior) was the top finisher for the Saints placing 16th overall while
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central) followed right behind placing 17th.
The Saints came back for five baker format matches on Sunday starting with a matchup against William Smith College (L, 964-773). D'Youville then went on to face off with Daemen University (L, 928-862), Mount St. Mary's (L, 1066-760), and Mercyhurst University (L, 953-838). The Saints closed out the day with a victory against the University of Pittsburg at Bradford defeating them 866 pins to 752.

The D'Youville Women's Bowling team is back in action this week as they head to Pennsylvania for the Saint Vincent Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament on Saturday, November 8th followed by the La Roche Unicorn Classic on Sunday, November 9th.
