LATROBE, Pa. – The D'Youville University Women's Bowling team went 2-3 after five traditional matches at the one-day Pat Lacey Memorial hosted by St. Vincent.
The Saints had their best performance of the day in game one against Belmont Abbey College. The Saints outscored Belmont Abbey 953 pins to 862 pins.
Hailee Zalwsky (Olean, N.Y. / Olean Senior) led the Saints for the entire day and bowled her best game of the day against Belmont Abbey with a 203 score.
Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk), Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central), and
Alyssa Mankowksi (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier) all had their best game of the day in game one as well.
Zalwsky finished 13th overall out of 50 bowlers with an average of 173.40.
Makayla Pasierb was the next finisher for the Saints, finishing 16th with an average of 169.8.
Megan Kapsiak placed 30th with
Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) trailing right behind in 31st.
Alyssa Mankowski finished the day in 37th and
Summer Sega rounded out the team in 48th place.
D'Youville dropped their second match of the day to William Smith College 904 pins to 792 pins and then fell to University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 818 pins to 774 pins. The Saints bounced back in game four where they defeated Ursuline College 831 pins to 780 pins.
Olivia Corbett had her best game of the day against Ursuline bowling a 195. The Saints closed out the day with a loss to Penn State Behrend after falling 859 pins to 806 pins.

The Women's Bowling team closes out the 2024 portion of their season on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the La Roche Unicorn Classic in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Saints will return at the start of 2025 to resume their season.
