BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University men's lacrosse team competed against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College, ending in defeat for the Saints, 17-15 from Dobson Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Tristan Engelhardt shined the brightest for the Saints finishing his afternoon with six goals, Steve Lucas recorded three goals and three assists, Stefano Evan gathered three goals and one assist, Nick Sholett ended with two goals and two assists, and Suman Ramlall had one goal and one assist.

FIRST QUARTER

• Things started off in favor of DYU as they produced a lead of six goals by 7:22, 6-0.
• By the end the Saints allowed the Spartans to creep back into it as they let four goals be scored before things were wrapped up, 7-4.

SECOND QUARTER

• The scoring became stagnate in this one letting in back-to-back goals by the start at 11:49, 7-6.
• DYU managed to score three goals in the affair but couldn't amount to the six STAC goals recorded.
• With 3:50 left the Spartans made use of that time scoring three straight that put them back into the mix evening up the score, 10-10.

THIRD QUARTER

• The defense of STAC did not fold in the presence of the Saints as they allowed for one DYU goal to be scored as they went on to take control of the quarter scoring four, 14-11.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Momentum began to shift in the direction of DYU in the midst of the quarter as they scored four consecutive goals that brought them within two, 16-14.
• Unfortunately, that run proved to not be enough as STAC scored one final goal at 2:33 for good measure to ensure the Saints had no way of coming back, 17-15.

The Saints will be on the road for their final game of the season at 5:00 p.m. against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Apr. 19 from the Outdoor Stadium.
