Box Score NORTH CANTON, OHIO- The D'Youville University men's lacrosse team competed against the Cavaliers of Walsh University dropping, 19-5 from Larry Staudt Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
FIRST QUARTER
- The Cavaliers got out to a strong start as they went on a 4-0 run.
- DYU utilized the remaining 3:51 to score two goals of their own that came from Lucas and Engelhardt, 4-2.
SECOND QUARTER
- WU got on the scoreboard first to get things started until at 9:01 Sholett retaliated for the Saints recording a goal, 5-3.
- The Cavaliers took the reigns for the remainder of the quarter allowing no goals and the momentum going into halftime, 11-3.
- DYU were a perfect four-for-four on clears.
THIRD QUARTER
- Saints tried to take control this quarter by getting on the scoreboard first with a goal that came at the hands of Sholett, 11-4.
- WU repeated the quarter in a similar fashion with no more goals to be scored from DYU, 15-4.
- The groundball battle was competitive as both teams tied by the end, 11-11.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Cavaliers wouldn't let up adding another three goals to their total, 18-4.
- Lucas scored the final Saints goal that resulted in a, 19-4 defeat.
- DYU in this quarter took better care of the ball committing fewer turnovers than WU, 4-3.
