Box Score BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University men's lacrosse team secured a hard-fought victory over the Golden Falcons of Felician University, 16-9 from Dobson Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
FIRST QUARTER
- DYU started the quarter out strong scoring back-to-back goals from Evan and Engelhardt, 2-0.
- From the 9:10 mark birthed a three-goal run for the Golden Falcons that lasted the remainder of the quarter that put them on top to conclude, 3-2.
SECOND QUARTER
- Saints wanted to show some urgency by getting on the scoreboard first in with a goal from Sholett, 3-3.
- Things got tied up again at 9:59 until Engelhardt responded with a goal shortly after at 9:09 to put the Sanits back out in front, 5-4.
- From that point on DYU outscored Felician, 2-1 which helped give them the lead going into the half, 7-5.
THIRD QUARTER
- Engelhardt wasted no time finding a way to get the ball in the back of the net first to get things started, 8-5.
- The next two goals that were goals scored belonged to the Golden Falcons that assisted them in putting a dent in the deficit, 8-7.
- That didn't worry the Saints as they were able to bury four consecutive goals into the net that gave them a more comfortable lead, 12-7.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Ruffalo score his fifth goal of the game at the 10:57 mark with Evan who set him up for the goal, 13-7.
- DYU stayed aggressive in their scoring efforts producing a three-goal run, 16-8.
- The Golden Falcons ended things by scoring the final of the game, 16-9.
