Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y.- The D'Youville University men's lacrosse team competed in their first game of the 2023 season against the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University dropping, 24-12 from Dobson Field.
STAT OF THE GAME
- Tristian Engelhardt made his presence known on the offensive side of the field by scoring six goals.
FIRST QUARTER
- FPU got out to an early start putting the ball in the back of the net six times, 6-0.
- DYU responded in the last 2:47 with a goal coming from Englehardt, 6-1.
- In under a minute of play in the quarter the Ravens tacked on another goal, 7-1.
SECOND QUARTER
- The frequent scoring of FPU continued by firing off three shots that made it into the goal by the 10:53 mark, 10-1.
- Englehardt tried to get the Saints back on track by scoring off a man-up opportunity being down by now eight, 10-2 with 7:18 remaining.
- The scoring onslaught continued for the Ravens as they hung up another three goals to cap things off for the half, 13-2.
THIRD QUARTER
- The Saints showed a sense of urgency to get things started by recording three goals scored by Suman Ramlall, Englehardt, and Steve Lucas scoring the final goal at 10:04, 13-4.
- Stefano Evan makes his contribution in scoring as well before FPU got a chance to respond back, 16-6.
- By the end of the quarter it was 17-7 with the final goal coming from Englehardt assisted by Brady Ruffalo, 17-7.
FOURTH QUARTER
- FPU started things off fast as they scored five goals to add to their total, 22-7 with 11:18 on the clock.
- DYU found a way to develop a run of their own by scoring five consecutive goals from Saints Ruffalo, Englehardt, and Ramlall, 22-12.
- The Ravens in the last 1:55 of the quarter scored an additional two goals before concluding the morning matchup, 24-12.
