BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville Women's Bowling Team traveled locally for a dual with Niagara University on Sunday afternoon.
The day consisted of three matches: one traditional match and two five-game baker format matches. Niagara won the traditional match knocking down 940 pins compared to the Saints 843.
In their first baker format match, D'Youville lost 642-878, outscoring Niagara in their second game of the match 161-136. The Saints best play came in their third match where they averaged a score of 156 pins and had their game high, 193 pins.
The Saints bowled five starters in their baker format games:
Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), Summer Sega (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg),
Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk),
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central), and
Alyssa Mankowski (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier).
The D'Youville Women's Bowling team is back in action next weekend for the Niagara University Invitational on November 4th and 5th. The two-day Invitational will be a day of traditional matches on Saturday followed by a series of baker format matches on Sunday.
