BUFFALO, N.Y. - The D'Youville University men's and women's cross country teams open the 2022 season at the Daemen Duals. This will be head coach Brendan McMaster's first showing at the helm of the program.
OPENING NOTES
I. The Saints are opening up the 2022 campaign at the Daemen Duals on Saturday, Sept. 10. Last year at the Daemen Duals, both the men's and women's cross country teams finished third.
II. Head coach Brendan McMaster enters his first season at the helm of the program. McMaster arrives in the city of good neighbors after building the cross country and track programs at Park University.
III. Henry Smith returns to the roster for the Saints. Smith paced the D'Youville on the course, earning 2021 USCAA First Team All-America honors.
IV. Sevilla Groebe joins the Saints after spending her freshman year with McMaster at Park University. The 5-7 sophomore had an impressive career at Park, finishing first in two races for the cross country season. She helped the team to a third place finish at the Cal Pac Championships.
V. The Saints will fight through a small men's roster this year, returning two runners from last season's team.
VI. The women's cross country team is full of new blood, as they welcome seven faces to the roster.
