BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville men's lacrosse game against East Coast Conference member Frostburg State that was scheduled for Wednesday, April 20 in Maryland has been postponed due to inclement weather in the Maryland area.
The game will be made up at a later date.
The Saints will be back in action at home on Saturday, April 23 as they host Molloy for an 11 a.m. matchup at Dobson Field. They will be recognizing senior Trent Zilliox-Burke prior to opening faceoff.
The D'Youville lacrosse teams partnered up to raise awareness about the Every Child Matters movement by wearing orange warmup shirts. The Every Child Matters movement highlights the damage is the residential school system did to the well-being of Indigenous children. Equally, it serves as a healing journey for the survivors and a commitment by all who wear an orange shirt, that every child matters. Over 150,000 Indigenous children attended residential schools in Canada from the late 1800's until the last one closed in the 1990's and of those attending, it's estimated that over 5,000 died while under residential school care. Many survivors are still dealing with the trauma of abuse experienced at these schools, and the impact it's had not just on them, but on their families as well.
