COLONIA, N.J. – D'Youville University Athletics had a strong week and was recognized by the East Coast Conference (ECC) with three major weekly award winners and five student-athletes being named to the Honor Roll for the week of August 31st-September 7th.
Sarah Reifsnyder, Field Hockey -ECC Goalkeeper of the Week
Sarah Reifsnyder started the season right where she left off last year, playing from beginning to end. In D'Youville's lone matchup of the holiday weekend, the Junior faced 14 shots recording 13 saves and only allowing on goal to give the Saints a 3-1 win on Monday.
Rowynn Pickering, Field Hockey – ECC Rookie of the Week
In Pickering's debut, she found herself pushing the ball downfield and being aggressive quite a bit for the Saints offense. She recorded three shots on goal, netting her first collegiate goal in the 35th minute to push the Saints ahead 2-1.
Barbara Kunz, Women's Cross Country – ECC Women's Runner of the Week
Kunz finished in third place at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic this weekend with a time of 20:05.8. The Senior was the top finisher for the Saints.
Madeline O'Brien, Women's Volleyball – ECC Honor Roll
O'Brien had a standout weekend recording 45 total kills throughout four games with 28 kills on Friday and a team high 15 kills against Shawnee State. The Senior also recorded 10 blocks, 21 digs, and eight serving aces throughout the weekend to help the Saints go 3-1 on the road.
Cameron Ulinski, Women's Volleyball – ECC Honor Roll
Ulinski recorded 42 kills for the Saints in their 3-1 weekend on the road. The Junior also recorded eight serving aces and 43 digs.
Madisyn Grawl, Field Hockey – ECC Honor Roll
Grawl had a standout performance for the Saints scoring the first goal of the season just one minute into play. The Junior recorded two shots on goal throughout the game.
Lilianna Peters, Women's Cross Country – ECC Honor Roll
Peters finished sixth at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic this past weekend with a time of 20:29.8.
Elaina Williams, Women's Cross Country – ECC Honor Roll
Williams finished seventh at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic with a time of 20:40.1.
