ECC Players of the Week | Sept. 8-15

COLONIA, N.J. – D'Youville University Athletics had a strong week and was recognized by the East Coast Conference (ECC) with three weekly award winners and six student-athletes being named to the Honor Roll for the week of September 8-15.

Cameron Ulinski, Women's Volleyball - ECC Player of the Week
Ulinski had a standout weekend for the Saints recording 66 kills with a .250 hitting percentage along with 10 service aces. The junior also recorded 43 digs and five total blocks on the defensive side. Ulinski went for a season-high 19 kills in the Saints win against Bridgeport on Saturday while also recording double-doubles against Felician, Bentley, and Bridgeport.

Matthew Solorio, Men's Soccer - ECC Goalkeeper of the Week
Solorio had an outstanding performance in goal for the Saints this week, recording two shutout wins as D'Youville went 2-0. Solorio has now recorded four shutouts in six games played with a save percentage of 0.682. The Junior recorded one save in the Saints 1-0 win against California University of Pennsylvania and three saves at home in D'Youville's 2-0 win over the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Ewan Brodie, Men's Soccer - ECC Rookie of the Week
Brodie netted the game winner for his first career goal on Saturday against University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown at home.

Ethan Robinson, Men's Soccer - ECC Honor Roll
Robinson powered the Saints offense this week recording two goals in two games. Robinson recorded the game winner against California University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday before scoring the go-ahead against the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to give D'Youville the 2-0 victory. The Junior recorded four points on the week with six shots on goal.

Sarah Reifsnyder, Field Hockey - ECC Honor Roll
In the Saints lone matchup this week, they faced undefeated Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Reifsnyder only played the first 30 minutes of game action for the Saints and put up strong stats against a respectable IUP offense. Reifsnyder recorded 10 saves on 17 shots that kept the game at 3-0 going into half.

Alegra Black, Women's Soccer - ECC Honor Roll
Alegra played the full 90 minutes in a hard-fought draw against Edinboro on Wednesday. In super rainy conditions, Alegra and the Saints saw 24 shots, Black saved 7 with huge stops down the stretch to avoid handing over the lead. Alegra's multiple saves in clutch time allowed the Saints to walk of Edinboro with a tie.

Manta Socada, Women's Soccer - ECC Honor Roll
Manta Socada put up D'Youville's lone goal of the week as it was a pivotal one against Edinboro to aid the Saints in the tie. Socada finished a beautiful top shelf goal just under 2 minutes into the game to allow the Saints to leave Edinboro without a loss. While not recording any goals, Socada did play a majority of the game against #12 Saint Michael in what was an intense matchup with some assist chances for Socada that didn't cash in.

Ashley Ballou, Women's Volleyball - ECC Honor Roll
Ballou recorded 114 assists this past weekend in four games for the Saints with a season-best 36 assists in back-to-back games against Bentley and Felician. The redshirt Sophomore also recorded 13 kills, six aces, and 26 digs.

Madeline O'Brien, Women's Volleyball - ECC Honor Roll
O'Brien eclipsed her 1,000th career kill this weekend in the Saints win over Bridgeport on Saturday. The Senior recorded 44 kills while also recording five service aces, 25 digs and six blocks.
