ECC Players of the Week | Apr. 6-12

COLONIA, N.J. – The Saints had strong performances across the board this past week, earning 13 ECC Honor Roll honorees for the week of Apr. 6-12.
 
Logan Schwartz, Men's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Schwartz was the leader of the Saints' defensive efforts in the team's 6-5 win over Post University, causing three turnovers while adding six groundballs on the day.
 
William Nichols, Men's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Nichols came up clutch many times for the Saints in the team's 6-5 win over Post University, making 15 saves on 20 shots faced, while adding three groundballs. Nichols made seven saves in the final frame of action including a key save with nine seconds left in regulation to salt the game away for the Saints.
 
Carsyn Kent, Men's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Though only having two goals on the week, none were bigger for Kent and the Saints as he scored the game-winner with 28 seconds left in regulation to help the Saints win 6-5 over Post University.
 
Sam Newlin, Women's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Newlin combined for six caused turnovers and four ground balls across the two games, including four caused turnovers and two ground balls in the win against Lake Erie and two caused turnovers and two ground balls against RWU. Her defensive pressure helped limit Lake Erie to three goals on six shots and created key extra possessions against RWU.
 
Madison Buck, Women's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Buck led D'Youville's offense across both games, with a 10-point performance (five goals, five assists) in the win against Lake Erie. She followed that up with two more assists versus Roberts, consistently facilitating for teammates. Her ability to both score and distribute made her the most impactful offensive player of the week.
 
Madison Handley, Women's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Handley led the Saints in scoring with nine total goals, scoring six goals against Lake Erie and three goals against RWU. She finished the week with high shot volume and efficiency, including 11 shots (eight on goal) in the Lake Erie game, consistently serving as D'Youville's top finishing option.
 
Lauren Parker, Women's Lacrosse - ECC Honor Roll
Parker dominated the draw circle across both games, recording seven draw controls against Lake Erie. Division II draw control leader followed that with 11 draw controls against RWU, finishing the week with 18 total draw controls. Her ability to consistently secure possession was a major factor in D'Youville's offensive opportunities and overall game control. Additionally, she recorded a goal, an assist, a ground ball, and a caused turnover in each game this week playing her role in D'Youville's 1-1 record on the week.
 
Billy Morris, Baseball – ECC Honor Roll
With ECC playoff contention on the line, Morris had an incredible weekend in the Saints' 4-game sweep of the Dolphins. He started it out with a career performance as the starting pitcher in game one, a 1-0 victory for the Saints. Morris tossed a 9-inning complete game shutout, recording a career-high 12 K's on over 120 pitches. He added to his school record win total, bringing him to 19 in his career at DYU.To add onto his weekend, Billy played third base to perfection for the rest of the series. He set a career high in assists with 6 in Sunday's contest. He added 5 hits, 5 RBI's and 5 runs scored on the weekend, including a big home run to spark the Saints in the series-finale. The entire weekend was a showcase of Billy's ability to play both ways, dominating on the mound, in the field, and at the plate. He also scored the game winning run as a baserunner from first after being intentionally walked in the 9th inning of game two of the series, a testament to his ability and the opponents' resistance to pitch to him in a crucial spot.
 
Colby Wilson, Baseball – ECC Honor Roll
Colby Wilson had a huge weekend with the bat to help the Saints sweep CSI. He went 6-for-16 on the weekend, including two homeruns to add to his ECC-lead, bringing him to 10 on the season. Wilson also recorded a clutch three-RBI double to walk-off Saturdays first contest and complete an incredible comeback. Colby finished the series with 8 RBI's and 6 runs scored, including the three extra base hits. He also played great on first base, posting a perfect fielding percentage with 32 opportunities on the weekend.
 
Jake Ferris, Baseball – ECC Honor Roll
At his debut in the leadoff spot, Ferris recorded a career-high three hits in the first matchup in Saturday's doubleheader against CSI. On the weekend, he started three of the four games, hitting 6-for-15 with two stolen bases, three runs scored and an RBI. He also finished the weekend with a perfect fielding percentage in right, coming down with six putouts on the series. His timely hitting in game two led to a walkoff opportunity that scored Ferris and others to win the first of two on Saturday.
 
Summer Clark, Softball – ECC Honor Roll
Clark finished the weekend with just a 1.75 ERA after pitching a complete game in game one against Molloy and coming in for an inning of relief in game two. The Senior earned the win in game one while striking out six batters in total to move her record to 11-4 on the season.
 
Frankie Morris, Softball – ECC Honor Roll
Morris was a key piece of the Saints offense this past weekend batting .571 overall with four hits, three RBIs, and three doubles.
 
Danielle Fenlong, Softball – ECC Honor Roll
Fenlong batted .500 on Saturday recording four hits and two RBIs.
