ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — D'Youville earned a third-place team finish with 26 points at the Brock Open, turning in multiple strong performances across the lineup and recording three runner-up finishes in a competitive field.
Alexis Brua led the way at 53 kg, placing second and totaling seven points. Brua opened the tournament with a dominant 12–2 technical fall at 3:52 before securing a 6–0 fall at 1:29 to advance to the final.
At 90 kg, Eliza Stricklin also claimed a second-place finish with seven points. Stricklin showed efficiency on the mat, recording an 8–0 fall at 0:57 and a quick 4–0 fall at 0:28 during her run through the bracket.
Madison Wellen added another runner-up performance for the Saints at 59 kg, finishing second with seven points. Wellen posted an 11–0 technical fall in just 0:38 and followed with a 6–0 fall at the same time mark.
The trio of podium finishes anchored D'Youville's scoring and propelled the Saints to a third-place showing in the team standings, marking a strong overall performance at the Brock Open.
The Saints will look to carry the momentum as they will travel to Mount Union University to compete in the Women's Raider Open on Jan. 18th at 9:30 am in Alliance, OH.
