SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Heading out east for their final dual of the regular season, the D'Youville University women's wrestling team fell to Western New England University by a score of 40-9 Friday afternoon.
 
The Saints (5-9) got one point in the 117 and 124 pound matches but were down 18-2 after four bouts. DYU kept fighting in the 131-pound match as Madison Wellen (East Berlin, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) earned the fall in quick fashion, doing so in 1:27 to make it 18-7.
 
D'Youville kept battling but picked up one more point in each of the 145 and 207 pound weight classes.
 
The Saints will close out the regular season portion of their schedule next Sunday, February 9th, as they compete in the John Carroll Open at 10 a.m.
