BUFFALO – The D'Youville University baseball team will compete in the ECC Tournament for the first time in program history this week. The one-seed Saints will take on the four-seed St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday.

The Saints capped off their regular season by taking three out of four from Mercy University this past weekend. DYU won the first three games of the series to extend their winning streak to eleven, but the Mavericks took the series finale 12-11 after the Saints nearly erased an 11-0 deficit.
Mihir Manerikar (Mississauga, Ontario) was named ECC Rookie of the Week after allowing two runs on just two hits while striking out two over five innings in DYU's 7-4 win on Saturday.
Chris Auclair (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) was named to ECC Honor Roll after another stellar outing. Auclair went six innings in D'Youville's 3-1 win over Mercy on Friday, allowing just one unearned run on four hits and striking out five while allowing just one walk. Auclair has now thrown 17 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run.
Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) and
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) were also named to ECC Honor Roll. Nowak went 7-for-13 (.538) with a double, three walks, and two RBI in four games against Mercy this weekend. In Friday's 3-1 win, Nowak hit the go-ahead double in the top of the ninth. He tallied a hit in all four games and recorded two multi-hit games. Hollins went 7-for-15 (.467) with three doubles, a triple, and three RBI in four games against Mercy this weekend. In Friday's 8-5 win, Hollins went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored.

- DYU finished the regular season with a 29-18 (18-6 ECC) record. 29 wins is a new program record.
- The Saints' offense ranks second in the ECC in slugging (.434), third in batting average (.301) and home runs (31), and fourth in hits (457) and doubles (76)

- Billy Morris is eighth in the ECC in strikeouts (53), ninth in ERA (4.66), and tenth in opposing batting average (.287)

- The Spartans finished the season with a 23-25 (14-10 ECC) record
- STAC's offense ranks second in the ECC in home runs (33), fifth in slugging (.378) and doubles (75), sixth in hits (364) and on-base percentage (.359), and seventh in batting average (.247)
- The Spartans' pitching staff is third in the ECC in strikeouts (327) and fourth in ERA (5.79) and opposing batting average (.285)
