D’Youville Athletics Announces Hiring of Three Assistant Coaches

BUFFALO, N.Y. – D'Youville University Athletics has announced the hiring of three assistant coaches who will join the Saints' coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 academic year. Ryan Kalbfus will serve as an assistant coach with the baseball program, Brinn Stworzydlak will serve as assistant coach to the women's lacrosse program, and Anthony Muñoz will join the men's lacrosse staff.

Ryan Kalbfus – Baseball
Kalbfus joins the Saints after serving as a full-time assistant baseball coach at Grove City College since January 2024. During his time at Grove City, Kalbfus played an integral role in a program that posted a 31-13 record and won its first Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship since 2008 in 2025. The team also led the conference in batting average, hits, doubles, walks, runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage while posting a .969 fielding percentage.

Kalbfus served as the program's recruiting coordinator, securing student-athletes from 10 different states, and played a key role in the development of five All-Conference players and the PAC Newcomer of the Year. He also organized and led daily practices for position players, managed defensive assignments, served as the first base coach, and utilized game film to develop scouting reports and in-game strategies.

Prior to Grove City, Kalbfus served as a volunteer assistant coach at Gannon University from 2023-24. He also brings extensive experience as a player, spending six seasons with Gannon's NCAA Division II baseball program and serving as a five-year starter at third base. During his playing career, he helped Gannon capture the 2022 PSAC West Regular Season Championship and make two NCAA Atlantic Regional appearances.
Kalbfus earned a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management from Gannon in 2021 and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Business Analytics in 2022.

Brinn Stworzydlak – Women's Lacrosse
Stworzydlak returns to D'Youville after serving as a goaltending coach with the Saints' women's lacrosse program since August 2025. In that role, she has worked directly with the team's goaltenders while assisting with scouting, practices, and team travel.

A D'Youville graduate, Stworzydlak earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Nutrition. She also brings previous coaching experience with the Frontier School District lacrosse program, where she served as a volunteer coach from 2022-25.

During her time at D'Youville, Stworzydlak was also a member and captain of the Saints' lacrosse program. Stworzydlak was named ECC Goalkeeper of the Year two times, named to the ECC First Team All-Conference three times, ECC Second Team All-Conference once, and was named the D'Youville Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.

Anthony Muñoz – Men's Lacrosse
Muñoz joins D'Youville after spending the past several years coaching at Averett University. Most recently, he served as a Student Success Coach while working with the men's lacrosse program as a special teams coach, defensive coach, and academic coordinator.

During his time at Averett, Muñoz helped the program match its school record with four wins in 2025 and grow its roster to the largest in program history in 2026. He also helped the program achieve a more than 40 percent decrease in penalties in 2025 and a 7.3 percent increase in clear percentage in 2026. His responsibilities included practice planning, positional film sessions, recruiting, team study hall, academic monitoring, conditioning, and rehabilitation sessions.

Muñoz previously served as a graduate assistant and offensive and recruiting coordinator at Averett from 2022-24. During that time, he helped the program improve its man-up percentage by 7.6 percent over two seasons, while also contributing to improvements in shooting percentage and shots-on-goal percentage.

A four-year student-athlete at Walsh University, Muñoz earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2022 before earning his Master's in Business Administration from Averett in 2024. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA while balancing his graduate coursework and coaching responsibilities and was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration.

Muñoz also spent the summer of 2025 as a recruiting coordinator with the Carolina Mavericks, evaluating players throughout the recruiting cycle and helping families develop individualized recruiting strategies.
The three new assistants bring experience across NCAA athletics, including recruiting, player development, academic support, scouting, strength and conditioning and program organization. Their additions will provide valuable support to the Saints' baseball, women's lacrosse, and men's lacrosse programs as they prepare for the upcoming academic year.
