The Saints swept Gannon University in a doubleheader on Tuesday. In their 8-7 win in game one,
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.),
Billy Morris (Lancaster, N.Y.),
Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.), and
Alec Boucher (Essex, Ontario) all tallied multi-hit games.
Zach Penner (Leamington, Ontario) threw 4.1 innings in relief, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out a season-high five batters. Down to their final out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Morris launched a walk-off two-run homer to give DYU the win. In the Saints' 7-4 win in game two,
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) did it all. Getting the start on the mound, he threw five solid innings, allowing three unearned runs on just three hits and striking out five. With the bat, he collected two hits, including a three-run double in the bottom of the sixth that proved to be the game-winning hit.
Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) also tallied a multi-hit game and Boucher extended his hitting streak to six games.
Mike Pasquarella (Hamburg, N.Y.) got his first win of the season, throwing two innings giving up just one run on one hit and striking out one.
