Baseball Heads to West Virginia for Three Games This Weekend

BUFFALO – The D'Youville University baseball team travels to West Virginia this weekend, where they will play a trio of games against Millersville University, West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and Mercyhurst University.

Last Time Out
The Saints opened their season with a doubleheader sweep over Clarion University on February 9th. They took game one by a score of 9-5. Chris Auclair (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) got the start, throwing 4.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on two hits and striking out five. Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.) had himself a day, clubbing two home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in six runs. Jeremy Glinski (Sloan, N.Y.) went a stellar 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. Blaise Kolbert (Lancaster, N.Y.) earned the victory, throwing 2.1 innings in relief of Auclair and surrendering three runs. In a 9-1 win in game two, Bryce Hediger (Chaffee, N.Y.) tossed five innings of shutout ball, surrendering just one hit and punching out five. Simpson continued his big day with two doubles and three RBI. Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) drove in three runs as well on a bases-loaded double in the third inning. Mihir Manerikar (Mississauga, Ontario) made his first collegiate appearance in relief of Hediger and recorded his first collegiate strikeout.
