Box Score 2 STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The D'Youville University baseball team faced the College of Staten Island for a doubleheader on Saturday, May 6. The Saints started off strong taking the first game by an eight run stretch. In the second game, the Saints fell by three, not being able to execute.
Game One: DYU 11, CSI 3

In the top of the first, a couple of singles by Jon Simpson and Craig Oliver brought Ethan Hammond and Billy Morris home, putting the Saints on the board. (2-0)

The Dolphins were only able to respond with one run in the bottom of the first. (2-1)

In the top of the second, Hammond made a 3 RBI double to left center. One more hit by Morris before the end of the inning brought the total to 6-1.

In the top of the fourth, Oliver struck again, this time with a double that brought Hammond and Blaise Kolbert home. The Saints then led 8-3.

With Staten Island quiet, D'Youville took advantage. In the top of the ninth, Hammond singled, and capitalized on an error by the right fielder, and Dillon Crook took home. The final score, 11-3.

Jeremy Glinski began game two getting hit by a pitch. Luckily, Simpson hit a sacrifice fly that brought Glinski home. (1-0)

In a strong second, the Dolphins recorded two singles and a sacrifice fly to gain the 3-1 lead.

DYU went silent until a double to left center by Glinski gave Alex Dzimian the space to run home. (5-2)

The Saints were unable to find the hits to save the game in the seventh. Leaving the final at 5-2.
