Box Score ROCHESTER, NY- The D'Youville University women's lacrosse team competed in their final regular season game against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University falling, 10-5 from RWC Outdoor Stadium.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Madison Buck and Sydney Gordon did all they could for the Saints as they both finished with one goal and one assist, Sam Newlin, Emily Fischer, and Jillian Bernas all recorded one goal respectively, and Madison Handley with an assist.
FIRST QUARTER
- The first 4:03 belonged to the Redhawks as they managed to put together a run of four goals giving themselves something to work with early on, 4-0.
- Newlin put an end to the scoring efforts being put together by RWU with a goal of her own that got DYU into the swing of things, 4-1.
- Shortly after Ficsher followed suit with a goal that only had the Saints down by as much as two goals, 4-2.
- RWU had the final say in this one scoring in the last 10 seconds of the quarter, 5-2.
SECOND QUARTER
- DYU made their presence felt as they outscored the Redhawks in the quarter keeping them to just one goal, 2-1.
- With the defense playing stellar the Saints brought the deficit back to within two goals before closing out the quarter heading into the half, 6-4.
THIRD QUARTER
- The half was stagnant on both sides from an offensive standpoint due to what each team's defense presented to one another.
- None the less that didn't stop the Redhawks from finding ways to score as they finished on back-to-back goals that provided them a four-goal lead, 8-4.
- Buck concluded the quarter by burying one into the back of the net, 8-5.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Saints had no answer for what the Redhawks displayed which led to no goals to be scored.
- DYU kept RWU to just two goals being scored.
- To make their win an assuring one, RWU tacked on two more goals that wrapped up the afternoon, 10-5.
