Box Score 2 FLUSHING, NY — The D'Youville University baseball team used a strong start from Chris Auclair and timely hitting from Ethan Hammond to knock off the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region Poll seventh-ranked Queens College (N.Y.), 4-1 in game one.
The Saints held a 2-1 advantage heading to the bottom of the fifth of game two but a three-spot by the Knights was all they needed to split the twin bill, 5-3.
Game One: DYU 4, QC 1
- QC struck first in the bottom of the second with a 2-out RBI double to right field.
- DYU responded quickly in the third as a pair of one-out walks by Alex Dzimian and Jeremy Glinski were followed by a Hunter Nowak infield single.
- Hammond stepped in next and delivered with a 2-RBI single to right center, DYU 2-1.
- Jon Simpson added an insurance run as his solo shot to start the sixth bumped the lead to 3-1.
- Hammond chipped in a solo jack of his own in the eighth as Samuel Worthen finished out the last two innings to earn his seventh save of the season.

Game Two: QC 5, DYU 3
- DYU struck first with Hammond's RBI groundout to plate Glinski in the opening frame.
- QC got the run back right away with a wild pitch and steal of third allowing an infield single to knot the game at 1-1.
- The Saints loaded the bases with one out in the second before Cooper Cefaratti's double to right center brought home two, DYU 3-1.
- In the fifth, QC loaded the bases with no outs before a wild pitch pulled them within one, 3-2.
- The next QC hitter added two more on a single up the middle as QC took its' first lead of the game, 4-3.
- DYU went 1-2-3 in the sixth before a double came around to add an insurance run for QC in the bottom of the frame, 5-3.
- The Knights worked around a 1-out single from Glinski in the seventh to earn the split.
