Box Score BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University women's lacrosse team dropped their conference game against the Mavericks of Mercy College, 18-5 from Dobson Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
FIRST QUARTER
- The Saints jumped onto the scoreboard first trying to establish themselves early on in this one at 14:09.
- From there on MER produced 7 consecutive goals that put them out to a comfortable lead of six, 7-1.
- DYU fired one into the back of the net at 1:09 to wrap things up, 7-2.
SECOND QUARTER
- The defense of the Mavericks proved to be formidable as they stood stout allowing not a single Saints goal to be scored during the entire quarter.
- This opportunity the Mavericks made didn't go unnoticed as they pursued a 6-0 run going into the half, 13-2.
THIRD QUARTER
- Things were a lot more stagnant in the quarter as the Saints were only behind the Mavericks by a goal comparing the goal differential in the quarter, 2-1.
- In the last second of play Newlin miraculously scored the DYU goal, 15-3.
FOURTH QUARTER
- For good measure the Mavericks tacked on three additional goals that helped solidify their win in conference play, 18-5.
