ERIE, Pa. — The D'Youville University baseball team tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth, but the Gannon University Knights got two runs back in the bottom half before tacking on an insurance run in the sixth to take game one 5-2.

The Saints jumped out to a 5-0 and 8-3 lead in game two but trailed 9-8 before a 7-run fifth led to a 17-12 victory in game two.

Game One: GU 5, DYU 2

• After a GU leadoff double in the second, the following batter hit a 2-run home run to center to put the Knights up 2-0.
• Billy Morris and Jon Simpson hit back-to-back singles with one out in the fifth before Jeremy Glinski followed with an RBI single to left to cut the deficit in half, 2-1.
• Craig Oliver stepped in next, and his infield single brought Simpson home after a throwing error, knotting the game at 2-2.
• In the bottom half of the frame, a leadoff walk came back to hurt DYU before a sacrifice fly pushed the margin back to two, GU 4-2.
• A Knights' RBI single in the sixth added an insurance run as the Saints went down in order in the seventh to end the game.

Game Two: DYU 17, GU 12

• A Billy Morris 3-run home run in the first put DYU up 3-0.
• The Saints continued the home run barrage as Simpson and Glinski followed with jacks of their own to go back-to-back-to-back for DYU in the first, jumping out to 5-0 lead.
• A pair of walks came back to hurt the Saints in the second as a bases-loaded triple by the Knights cut the margin to 5-3.
• DYU responded quickly in the third with back-to-back long balls from Craig Oliver and John Rogowski, Jr. to push the margin back to five, DYU 8-3.
• GU took advantage of five free bases in the bottom half of the inning as four walks and a hit batter helped the Knights hang a six-spot on the board to take a 9-8 advantage.
• A Saints' error led to another Knights' run in the fourth, GU 10-8.
• Morris began the fifth with his second home run of the day, this one to left, to pull DYU within one to start a 7-run fifth.
• Rogowski's bases-loaded 2-RBI single made it 11-10 DYU before an RBI groundout by Alex Dzimian scored Oliver.
• Hunter Nowak followed with a triple to right center before Ethan Hammond's 2-run blast ended the Saints' scoring for the inning, DYU 15-10.
• GU got one back in the sixth via a fielder's choice.
• Nowak's 2-run homer in the seventh, the first of his collegiate career, capped off the scoring for the Saints as they took game two, 17-12.
