Box Score BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University women's lacrosse team went out and gathered another conference win on the season against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College, 15-5 from Dobson Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Brinn Stworzydlak was stellar in between the pipes finishing with 11 saves off 16 shots taken, Sydney was a factor that made the biggest difference for the Saints as she concluded with five goals and an assist, Newlin just as honorable gathered on the afternoon four goals and an assist, Danielle Thompson had all eyes on the field as she gathered 1 goal and four assists, Emily Fischer wrapped up with two goals and an assist, Madison Buck collected one goal and two assists, and Danielle Gephart had an assist.
FIRST QUARTER
- The Saints took control in this quarter not allowing the Spartans to develop any form of rhythm when it came to goal scoring, 3-0.
- DYU's 3-0 run produced was contributed by Gordon, Buck, and Newlin.
- Goals scored by the Saints took place in the first 6:50.
SECOND QUARTER
- The tempo of the game began to ramp up on the STAC side of things as they found the back of the net first to get things going, 3-1.
- At 5:12 the Spartans found a way to get off back-to-back goals positioning themselves to be down by as much as two goals, 5-3.
- From there on the Saints assured their lead to be secured as they jumped out to a three-goal lead while only letting in one STAC goal going into the half, 7-4.
THIRD QUARTER
- Saints came in with a sense of urgency to keep their lead intact by preventing any Spartan goals to be scored in the quarter.
- DYU was able to produce four consecutive goals establishing their pace, 11-4.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The onslaught that the Saints created did not stop as they went on another 4-0 run that gave themselves their largest lead in the game of 11 goals, 15-4.
- STAC in the final seconds recorded their last goal to add onto the scoreboard which was no match in comparison to what the Saints were able to achieve that led to another DYU victory, 15-5.
