CARY, N.C. — The Saints took on the Vikings of Augustana, S.D. in the evening of March 4. After nine innings, the Vikings took the game 5-1.

 How it Happened

• No runs were scored after three innings.

• At the bottom of the fourth, after a single and two walks, Augustana hit one more single and two players came home to score. (2-0)

• After that, the Vikings made a steal and collected one more run. (3-0)

• Late in the inning, after two outs, Augustana got a walk with the bases loaded and scored their fourth. (4-0)

• At the bottom of the sixth, after a walk, a steal and an advance, the score became 5-0 after Augustana singled to left field. 

• At the top of the eighth, Ethan Hammond walked and made two consecutive steals. When Blaise Kolbert flew out to center field, Hammond took home. (5-1)

• The Vikings made a pitching save at the top of the eighth and DYU was unable to capitalize, at the top of the ninth, putting the final score at 5-1.

• Kolbert collected an RBI for bring Hammond home

• Hammond had a total of 3 SB, 1 H, 1 R and 2 BB
