BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University women's lacrosse team secured their first win of the season against the Fighting Scots of Edinboro University, 17-3 from Dobson Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Saints had three standouts in Sam Newlin, Jillian Bernas, and Sydney Gordon who finished with four goals each. Madison Buck and Madison Handley concluded their evening with two goals while Danielle Gephart had one goal respectively.

FIRST QUARTER

• Saints got out to an early lead with the first goal coming from Gordon, 1-0.
• EU responded with one of their own by the 8:34 mark with the score all tied up, 1-1.
• DYU took the reigns for the rest of the quarter controlling lead, 3-1.

SECOND QUARTER

• This quarter belonged to the Saints as they produced a scoreless 15 minutes of play for the Fighting Scots.
• Handley, Newlin, and Gordon were the contributors to the goal-scoring that commenced in the quarter.
• Gordon contributed two assists on both of Newlin's goals.
• This onslaught created by DYU put them up by nine goals going into the half, 10-1.

THIRD QUARTER

• DYU kept their foot on the gas as they kept EU from scoring for the second consecutive quarter.
• Buck and Bernas both buried two each into the back of the net that helped the Saints tack on four more goals to their total, 14-1.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Saints start the quarter out strong with the first two-goal scores belonging to Bernas and Handley, 16-1.
• EU tried to rally back as they scored back-to-back goals with 5:48 remaining, 16-3.
• Gephart added a goal to the Saints total that solidified their first win of the season, 17-3.
