Box Score BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University women's lacrosse team competed against the Lions of Georgian Court falling, 18-12 from Dobson Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
FIRST QUARTER
- The Saints came out scoring the first goal of the game coming from Gordon at 13:40.
- From that point the Lions were able to respond with four straight goals by the 4:12 mark, 4-1.
- Gordon helped get the Saints out of their slump with a goal scored at 3:54, 4-2.
- The quarter was finished out by three more Lion goals, 7-2.
SECOND QUARTER
- GU got out to an early start with a goal scored coming off a free position shot, 8-2.
- Gordon matched the Lions in scoring off the same exact opportunity trying to put her team into a better position, 8-3.
- The defense performed by GU only allowed DYU to score once while the Lions recorded five more goals to add to the scoreboard, 14-4.
THIRD QUARTER
- The Saints came out strong in the quarter allowing one goal to be scored by the Lions overall.
- Giving DYU the opportunity to record three goals with them coming from Handley and Gordan, 15-7.
- DYU's efficiency in that quarter resulted in them outscoring the Lions three to one.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Slow start for DYU by the 6:54 mark as GU scored their second goal of the quarter, 17-8.
- Saints found a way to get the ball in the back of the net at 3:48 from a goal scored by Handley, 17-9.
- Lions gathered one more goal to conclude their scoring at 3:35, 18-9.
- Another quarter for the Saints where they were able to outscore the Lions five to three.
