BUFFALO, N.Y. – Getting their first look at action of the 2023-24 season, the D'Youville University men's basketball team will travel to Binghamton University this evening for a 6:07 p.m. tip.

Returning for the Saints
DYU will return eight players from a year ago in
Renard Fontes Jules (Brocton, Mass.), Nelson St. Louis (Port St. Lucie, Fla.),
Nasir Hammonds (Norfolk, Va.),
Chase Jenkins (Titusville, Fla.), Bryson Birdsong (Winter Haven, Fla.),
Luke Theisen (Lake View, N.Y.),
Mason Putnam (Prattsburgh, N.Y.), and
Kevin Thompson (Buffalo, N.Y.). Theisen and Fontes Jules are two of the team's top three scorers from a year ago, averaging 11.2 and 9.5 points per game. Fontes Jules will also provide offense as he will look to get others involved, leading the team in assists with 76.
Theisen also returns as a top three rebounder from a year ago, grabbing 82 boards which put him third highest from the team last year. Fontes Jules was also towards the top of the rebound list with 71 rebounds.
New Faces
The Saints welcomes six newcomers to the team with two freshman and four transfers. The freshman includes
Jaylin Simmons (Queens, N.Y.) and
Dawson Matsell (Hamilton, Ontario) while the transfers include
Noah Hutchins (Buffalo, N.Y.),
Justin Moore (Oxford, Ala.),
Dut Kuol (Aweil, South Sudan), and
Trayton Trice (Romeoville, Ill.).

- Binghamton finished the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 13-18 and an 8-8 record in the American East.
- The Bearcats are picked fourth in the American East Preseason Coaches Poll.
- Binghamton returns starters Dan Petcash and Armon Harried. Petcash averaged 9.8 points per game while Harried averaged 11.8 points per game a year ago.
