Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Freshman Brinn Stworzydlak recorded a career-high 17 saves, but the Saints ultimately fell 4-14 to East Coast Conference leader Mercy Sunday afternoon in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Marissa Malvaso paced the Saints offensively with a team-high two goals. Paige Cocina and Riley Riedel each had one goal.
First Quarter Notables
- Mercy opened the scoring Sunday afternoon as Briana Corace put one past Stworzydlak at 11:51.
- Malvaso evened the score at 7:47 when she scored an unassisted goal.
- The Mavericks added two more goals before the final whistle of the first quarter, leading 3-1 going into the first break.
Second Quarter Notables
- Juliana Keenan from Mercy scored first in the second quarter, sneaking one past Stworzydlak at 13:02.
- Cocina cut into the Mavericks' lead at 12:42, but Mercy responded with three goals to extend the lead to 7-2.
- Malvaso added her second unassisted goal of the game with just over a minute to play in the half.
- Mercy tacked on one more goal before the final whistle of the first half, going into the intermission leading 8-3.
Third Quarter Notables
- The Mavericks scored two goals in the third quarter to extend their lead to 10-3.
Fourth Quarter Notables
- Mercy came out of the final break with three quick goals.
- Riedel added one final goal for the Saints at 5:08 off a pass from Danielle Thompson.
- The Mavericks tacked on one final goal in the game at 2:17 to secure the 14-4 victory.
