RODI, N.J. - After day one of the Falcon Fall Classic, hosted by Felician University, the D'Youville women's bowling team sits in 10th place after day one of the two-day competition. In five traditional matches, the Saints went 3-2.
In their first match, D'Youville defeated Buffalo rivals, Daemen, 823-817, before falling to Fairleigh Dickinson University, 1003-824.
The Saints rebounded in their third match, defeating another East Coast Conference opponent in St. Thomas Aquinas. D'Youville defeated the Spartans, 854-706.
The Saints traded wins and losses once more to close out traditional match play, falling to Molloy, 804-698, before clinching a winning record on the day with an 828-821 victory over the hosts, Felician.
Freshman Olivia Corbett paced D'Youville in traditional match play with an average score of 183.20 over the five matches with a total score of 916. Individually, Corbett's scores of 916 and 183.20 put her in the top 10 at seventh place. Also placing in the top 20 individually was sophomore Emily Williams, who scored 839 overall with an average score of 167.80.
The Saints will wrap up the Falcon Fall Classic tomorrow with play getting underway at 8:30 a.m.
