WEST SENECA, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Women's Bowling team competed as the host team in their first ever D'Youville Blizzard Cup on Sunday, finishing third out of five teams.
The day of competition consisted of five traditional matches, one of which was a blind round where total pinfall was counted. The Saints got the blind round out of the way to start the day as they totaled 735 pins in the no opponent contest. D'Youville then found success against Roberts Wesleyan University, defeating the Redhawks 854-841. The Saints then suffered back-to-back losses to Niagara University and Daemen University before a strong finish against Hilbert College winning 930-818.
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central) was the top finisher for the Saints on her Senior Day placing third overall. Kapsiak earned herself a spot on the All-Tournament team knocking down 931 pins on the day with a best game of 226 in game three against Niagara University.
Hailee Zalwsky (Olean, N.Y. / Olean Senior) followed right behind knocking down 876 pins total with a best game of 211 against Hilbert College.
