Day Two
ERIE, Pa. – The D'Youville women's bowling team concluded the two-day Ebonite Mercyhurst Invitational on Sunday and finished seventh.
In five baker matches on Sunday the Saints went 0-5.
D'Youville opened the day with a loss to Medaille, 984-904. Olivia Corbett rolled a 235 to lead the way for the Saints. Rachael Blose was close behind with a 191.
The Saints then played Daemen in back-to-back matches. Daemen won the first encounter 946-861 and 838-781 in the second matchup. In the first match with the Wildcats, Emmalie Rome had a 181 to pace the Saints. Blose knocked down 183 pins in the second matchup, which was the top score for D'Youville.
The fourth match of the day was the closest for the Saints. Match four was against Roberts Wesleyan and the Saints and Redhawks battled before the Redhawks came away with a four-pin win, 929-925. Alyssa Mankowski registered a 245, which was the high score of the day for the Saints. Makayla Pasierb also broke 200 with a 204.
In the final match-up the weekend, the Saints took on the hosts and fell 915-892. Corbett had a 222 to lead the way.
Duquesne won the two-day event with a 9-1 record.
Day One
ERIE, Pa. – After five traditional team matches on the first day of the Ebonite Mercyhurst Invitational, the D'Youville women's bowling team went 1-4 and is seventh.
In the first match of the day against Roberts Wesleyan, the Saints fell 902-761. Emmalie Rome led the way with 200 pins.
Match two against Mercyhurst was closer for D'Youville. Mercyhurst came out on top 795-768. Oliva Corbett rolled a 205, and Rome added a 186 to pace the Saints.
The Saints got into the win column against Penn St. Behrend, 865-696. Rome once again was the high scorer with a 223. Rachel Blose was two pins away from 200.
In matches four and five, the Saints rolled over 800 in both but fell 979-802 to Duquesne and 1,024-824 to Wilmington. Blose had 187 to lead the way against the Dukes, and Makayla Pasierb had 194 against Wilmington in match five.
Rome led the Saints in pinfall average with 185.4 over five games to finish 12th in average. Rome rolled a 223 and a 200 on Saturday. Blose (168.6) ranked 17th individually. Blose had a high score of 198. Corbett was 20th with a 161.8 average, which included a high score of 205 in match two.
