Box Score Fredonia, NY – The D'Youville women's soccer team closed out the Blue Devil Classic on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Oswego Lakers by the score of 2-0.
The two teams were scoreless through a majority of the first half, with Oswego outshooting D'Youville 12-0 in the first half. It wasn't until the 37th minute until the Lakers would break through to take the 1-0 lead and hold that lead into halftime.
Oswego didn't waste much time doubling their lead, scoring their second goal in the 52nd minute for a quick 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Spartans couldn't get much going on offense. They were outshot 12-0 again in the second half as they were shutout by the Lakers 2-0.
Goalkeeper Megan Dulniak (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) recorded eight saves in goal. Brittany Cristofanelli (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Magan Magee (Ellenburg Center, NY/Northern Adirondack) were named to the Blue Devil Classic All-Tournament Team.
D'Youville will next host the Houghton Highlanders this Friday, September 14 at 7:00pm at Dobson Field.
