Women's Soccer Closes Out 2025 With 1-0 Loss to Roberts Wesleyan In First Round of ECC Playoffs

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — #3 Roberts Wesleyan edged #6 D'Youville 1-0 on Thursday at Roberts Stadium in the first round of East Coast Conference Playoffs. D'Youville's goalkeeper made 12 saves, keeping the match close until a second-half goal from Roberts Wesleyan secured the win. Despite the loss, D'Youville managed to put all four of their shots on target.
The match began with both teams striving for an early advantage. D'Youville showed resilience defensively with Amanda Kit (Markham, Ontario / Bill Crothers SS) making crucial saves. On the offensive side, D'Youville's Makaylah Higgins (Warsaw, N.Y. / Warsaw) and Laoise O'Haodha (Limerick, Ireland Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh) both tested the Redhawks' defense, but their shots were saved. Kit recorded a career-best 12 saves, showcasing her defensive capabilities in goal. Higgins managed one shot on goal, contributing to the offensive efforts. Danica Brill (Gores Landing, Ontario / Trinity College) finished with two shots, both of which were on target, aiming to break through the opposing defense. O'Haodha added one shot on goal, further testing the opposition's goalkeeper.
