Box Score Meadville, PA – The D'Youville women's lacrosse team it the road on Tuesday evening, falling to the Allegheny Gators by the final score of 19-4.
Jillian Golding (Lockport, NY/Lockport) began the game with a goal for the Spartans, putting them up 1-0 over the Gators. Throughout the remainder of the first half, it was all Allegheny as the Gators scored the next 12 goals and led at halftime 12-1.
In the second half, Allegheny continued to pour it on. They scored the first three goals of the half to lead 15-1 before Amber Lundrigan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) added a goal to make the score 15-2. Marissa Markott (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) then added a second consecutive goal for the Spartans seven minutes later and the score was then 15-3. Down 19-3, Golding scored her second goal of the game with 0:21 left in regulation and the women went on to lose by the final of 19-4.
Golding led the team with two goals, six shots, five shots on goal, and five draw controls. Lundrigan and Markott each added goals with Julia Prychodko (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) leading the team with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. In goal, Megan Dulniak (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) made 12 saves.
The next game for the women comes this Saturday as D'Youville travels to Waynesburg to play at 12:00pm.
