Box Score Cresson, PA – The D'Youville women's soccer team opened up their 2015 conference schedule with a win against the Mount Aloysius Mounties with the final score of 4-1.
Picking up where they left off last week, forwards Magan Magee (Ellenburg Center, NY/Northern Adirondack) and Kiernan Johnson (Cherry Valley, IL/Keith School) each found the back of the net, with Johnson scoring 2 goals. Senior Rebecca Alvira (Buffalo, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) scored the other goal for the women.
Elizabeth Lyons (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), Terra Juda (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Jenna Tomizzi (Buffalo, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) all registered an assist in the game. Freshman Megan Dulniak (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) picked up her fourth win of the season, making 2 saves.
Johnson led the team with 4 shots overall and 3 shots on goal. In her last 3 games, the sophomore has scored 5 goals and is now second the team with 12 points. Magee now leads the team with 6 goals and 13 points all as a freshman.
Juda, Emily Ward (Leonardsville, NY/Mount Markham), Nicole LaVere (Clarence, NY/Williamsville East), Emily Carias (Eden, NY/Eden) and Catie Giebner (Sicklerville, NY/Winslow Township) all also accounted for a shot on goal. The team had 15 shots and 10 shots on goal in the game. D'Youville had 4 corner kicks to the Mounties 0.
The next game for the women will come next Saturday as they head to Pitt.-Greensburg for their second conference game of the season.
