On defense, the veteran leaders junior Amanda Drake (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) and Mallory Hojnacki (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) helped shut down the Mt. Aloysius attack to earn the shutout. Freshman Jenna Tomizzi (Buffalo, NY/Sacred Heart) also contributed in a big way to help the Spartan defense. Junior goalie Catie Giebner (Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Township) turned away all 4 shots that she faced.
